The center will hold the "Agricultural Supply Chain Research International Forum" on October 23, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Charles H. C. Kao Institute, 3rd Floor, International Agriculture Building, National Chung Hsing University. The event, moderated by Dr. Chia-Lin Chang, Director of the Agricultural Policy Research Center, will feature both domestic and international experts sharing their latest research and practical insights into agricultural supply chains.
Our international speakers include Dr. Vincent Amanor-Boadu, Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University, USA, and Dr. Ivo Zdráhal, Assistant Professor in the Department of Regional and Business Economics at Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic. Representing Taiwan, we have Dr. Chung-Hsiu Hung, Counselor at the Ministry of Agriculture, and Dr. Ching-Chien Huang, General Manager of the Wufeng District Farmers' Association.
Dr. Vincent Amanor-Boadu will discuss the application of system dynamic modeling in developing new international trade avenues, highlighting its use in analyzing and predicting global agricultural market trends. Dr. Ivo Zdráhal will present insights on the short food supply chain model in the European Union, specifically from the perspective of farmers in the Czech Republic.
Dr. Chung-Hsiu Hung will share Taiwan’s agricultural export experience through public-private partnerships, illustrating how collaborations between the government and private sector have successfully expanded international markets and enhanced Taiwan's agricultural competitiveness. Dr. Ching-Chien Huang will explore Taiwan's contract farming practices, using rice as a case study, to demonstrate how contract farming promotes diversified uses of agricultural products and contributes to stable agricultural market development.
